Humans are probably born with the realisation that every piece of news or information we get from another source, has essentially passed through one or more of the filters of that model. I don't know why we tend to cling to one kind of source (leading to biased views). However, how the hell is one supposed to get the most un-biased, independant version of events. Either by researching every single piece of information published, from every single type of source in the world (and that includes online articles btw...so good luck on THAT) or by actually being in the place where the event took place. And for close to infinite number of events happening every day, the latter is obviously an impossible task. The former would likely drive the researcher nuts, which is my guess for why the people Mr. C opposes, choose to ignore him.
So
To bring you a very cliched saying...
God could not be everywhere, so he created Mothers...
and...my own modification to that
Humans could not be everywhere, so they created God
Think about it. You would actually have to be an omniscient power, able to hear and see everything in order to have the most unbiased view of what happened and why.
so the best News-Source in the world would be God...and since I know there isn't one in the first place, I'm guessing I can safely say, that there is no perfect source.
We are all being lied to in some form or the other...

nice...and i agree.... after all we get is opinion not news... though I am personally least bother about any of those two...

Nicely done. But I do think one can have a journalistic system where the reporting is objective. Yes, being opinionated is inescapable but at the very least the news could show both sides of the story rather than make it completely skewed.

I somehow feel we (as humans) have this insatiable need to BE TOLD what to think and what opinion to form rather than just form an opinion of our own based on facts.
Being told, takes the form of talk shows, ed pieces etc.
and to take off on a slight tangent here, in terms of full, free and complete honesty in information we receive...a good way to start would be to install cameras in all high-level, low-level diplomatic meetings, and simply broadcast them on a giant screen at the city square...just so we actually know how far our leaders went about peacefully negotiating an issue...
this is not a brand new concept...Lok Sabha TV!
